Despicable Me films have never quite landed on a look or tone that feels ineffably them but this fourth instalment has some wellorchestrated slapstick moments. The bad guy du jour is Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) who has stolen a giant rose diamond from a museum. Uber-grouch Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and his twin Dru (also Carell) join forces to retrieve it.
