Dow Jones rallies amid hopes of trade truce

The Dow Jones posted its biggest one-day gain in two and a half years yesterday as US and Chinese officials held talks in an attempt to de-escalate the chances of a full-blown trade war. Steven Mnuchin, the US Treasury secretary, said that talks were ongoing between America and China in an attempt to stop the tit-for-tat trade war from escalating further.
