Adverts for £1 coach tickets are banned

-

 Adverts that promise long-distance bus fares “from £1” have been banned, as only 3per cent of tickets are available at that price.

Passengers who click on low price ads online may often find there are no seats at the advertised fares. The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) found that in at least one case this was because there were never many low fare seats available. The ASA specified that at least 10 per cent of tickets should be available at that price after the consumer views the advert. The company said the number of fares available for £1 for any given route varied due to the amount of stops and number of bookings.
