Police told of criminals fleeing after bird’s flown

-

Criminals are slipping out of the UK on Eurostar and ferries because police are not told that they are travelling until after they have left the country.

The Chief Inspector of Borders revealed that over a 10-month period, 50 “persons of interest” travelled on Eurostar with only four intercepted.

A report also said ferry companies operating from Dover to Calais regularly submit information about passengers on board 90 minutes after ferries have sailed.
