Man charged over Hatton Garden raid
An electronics expert has been remanded in custody after being charged in connection with the Hatton Garden safe deposit raid.
Michael Seed, 57, is alleged to be the final member of the gang – referred to as “Basil” – who staged the £14million heist over Easter three years ago. He was arrested at his home in Islington, less than two miles from the scene of the raid. He appeared at Westminster magistrates’ court charged with one count of conspiracy to burgle and one count of conspiracy to conceal criminal proceeds. James Reilly, his lawyer, said Mr Seed indicated that he would be denying the allegations.
He will next appear before Woolwich Crown Court on April 26.
