Mothers’ anger at ‘artificial’ milk notice

-

 A hospital trust has been criticised after a letter to new mothers referred to formula milk as “artificial milk”.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust wrote that as of May 1 it “will no longer be providing artificial milk (formula milk) to new mothers”.

The memo was shared on Twitter, leading many users to criticise the language used. One, Alis Roberts, said it made her “feel sick to the stomach”.

A trust spokesman said: “We take the views of our mums and families very seriously, and will consider carefully all of the feedback on the wording of our information.”
