China’s Jack the Ripper sentenced to death

-

A man described as China’s version of Jack the Ripper has been sentenced to death for the rape and murder of 11 women and girls.

Gao Chengyong, 54, was likened to the notorious killer from Victorian London due to the way he mutilated the bodies of his victims, which included an eight-year-old girl.

He allegedly targeted females dressed in red during his 14-year killing spree, which began in 1988. Gao would follow his victims home, where he would rape and kill them, often by cutting their throat.
