In the Studio: Sophie Hannah – Recreating Poirot
WORLD SERVICE, 11.30AM
Sophie Hannah has embarked on a project that sounds like literary heresy: attempting to adapt Agatha Christie’s character of Hercule Poirot, writing new instalments of his adventures. Hannah wrote her first Poirot novel in 2014 and is now approaching publication of her third, and as she discusses in this in-depth exploration of her work, it’s a complex process, requiring cooperation with Christie’s estate as well as her own struggles trying to craft a satisfying manuscript for a new crime classic.
