Bus driver took ‘both hands off the wheel’
A tourist who lost part of his ear in a bus crash, when the roof was ripped off in a collision with an overhanging tree, claims the driver took both his hands off the wheel to read a map.
Irek Luszczewski, 51, was one of four people injured in August 2015 in Russell Square, London, when debris from the double decker hit passengers. Fortunately, doctors were able to reattach the part of the Polish national’s ear. Mr Luszczewski is now suing Golden Tours, the owners of the bus. His solicitors, Irwin Mitchell, say they have CCTV from moments leading up to the crash showing the driver with both hands on a map, rather than the steering wheel.
