Vet charged with faking papers for puppy farms

-

A vet who made more than £75,000 falsifying paperwork of nearly 5,000 puppies to hide the fact that they came from puppy farms or had been imported, has been convicted.

Daniel Doherty, 49, produced fake documents stating the puppies came from litters born to family pets, were home born and were family friendly.

He also signed vaccination cards stating that the puppies had been immunised against viruses and diseases such as parvovirus, and had been dewormed and deflead.

Some of the unprotected puppies later died.
