Meet-and-greet airport service left passengers’ cars in fields

-

♦ Easter holidaymakers were stranded at an airport after a “meet and greet” parking firm left cars abandoned in lay-bys and fields.

Families returning to Bristol Airport discovered the company had failed them as several vehicles turned up in countryside roads, lay-bys, a pub car park and on a farm “in the middle of nowhere”.

They described the service of the firm, Absolutely Secure Airport Parking, as “shocking”.

Passengers made online bookings with meet-and-greet companies that had been sub-contracted.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “A significant number of motorists have been unable to retrieve their vehicles from the company.

“We’re investigating and are keeping an open mind as to whether any criminal offences have been committed.”
