Students and pickets

-

SIR – University students are being harassed as they try to get to tutorials with lecturers who are still working.

Pickets are pressuring students to strike. Students would gain nothing, and actually lose by backing the strike.

As students are not getting the full tuition they have paid for in advance (through loans with high interest rates), they should morally – perhaps legally – get a refund. That could never make up for their lost study time.

I have written to my MP to get some action. May I suggest that parents and grandparents (who help students to face the heavy costs) do likewise?
