Squatters’ fight

French police fired tear gas and stun grenades to expel anti-capitalists who had been squatting at an abandoned airport site near Nantes, western France, for 10 years. Some 100 protesters set up camp to prevent the airport’s construction but refused to leave when the project was abandoned.
