Venerable steed
The Golden Horse of Maoling has joined other artefacts from the Han Dynasty at an exhibition entitled at Liverpool Museum. The horse, which is made of gilded bronze, was found near the mausoleum of Emperor Wu, who ruled from 141BC to 81BC, and its design is thought to be based on animals he imported from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
