Bad therapy

-

sir – I read the article on Anne Craig, a “personal development coach” accused of encouraging her clients to sever all contact with their families (Magazine, April 7), with my heart in my mouth.

I have a daughter who used to be very close to me, but after having cognitive therapy she has refused to have any contact with me for many years. Therefore, I have no contact with my grandchildren either. I am disabled and not in good health, which someone has told her, but still nothing.

I have been advised that the damage is done, and there is probably nothing I could do now to heal the situation.

It is terrifying that vulnerable people seeking help through therapy should be turned against their families in this way. Clearly the law needs to be changed. Jane Alexander
