The final of the English Bridge Union National Pairs has taken place in Coventry, writes Julian Pottage, Bridge Correspondent. 50 pairs, who had qualified from Regional heats, participated. Winners are as follows:

1st David Kendrick and Paul Barden, 59.04%; 2nd Ankush Khandelwal and Ben Green, 57.72%; 3rd Sandy Riach and Jacek Lapszys, 57.01%; 4th Michael Alishaw and Stephen Kennedy, 56.30%; 5th Mark Tilley and Ufuk Cotuk, 53.61%; 6th Marc Chawner and Paul Spencer, 53.51%;

7th David Arundel and Andrew Bannock, 53.38%; 8th Mark Westley and Bill Thurl, 53.15%;

9th Victor Milman and Nadia Stelmashenko, 52.64%; and

10th Simon Barb and Rod Oakford, 52.43%.
