Lauren Laverne: Record Store Day

The annual Record Store Day has increased in popularity every year since it began in 2007 as a celebration of local independent record shops. Now that sales of vinyl sales are outstripping those of CDS, it’s been heralded as a success for the industry, as well as providing an excuse to toast alternative music. Lauren Laverne broadcasts live from Spillers Records in Cardiff, which claims to be the oldest record store in the world, and focuses on Welsh music with guests Gwenno and Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys.
