Bonmarche joins chorus of downbeat retailers

Sales at Bonmarché continued to deteriorate in the final quarter of its financial year, against a backdrop of distress on the UK high street. The retailer, which sells clothing for women over 50, posted an 11.1pc fall in same-store sales in the 13 weeks to the end of March. This was worse than the 9.7pc slump in the previous quarter.
