Army minorities report more complaints
Female soldiers are more likely to report bullying and harassment, Army figures show.
Both female and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) personnel were over-represented in the complaints system, at 20 per cent and 10 per cent respectively, compared to their representation in the armed forces of 11 per cent and seven per cent.
Nicola Williams, The Army’s service complaints ombudsman, said she was “concerned about the continued disproportionality of female and [BAME] personnel in the complaints process, particularly in relation to complaints concerning bullying, harassment and discrimination.”
