Thank heaven for cash

-

sir – I have been unable to transfer money from my personal TSB account to my Lloyds business account. But I have been able to write a cheque to my Lloyds account and then drive nine miles to put it in our nearest branch.

This had to be done to prevent our being overdrawn and incurring charges from Lloyds. Thank goodness we still have a cheque book.

These problems would not have happened if Lloyds hadn’t moved our business account to TSB in Scotland against my wishes when the EU demanded Lloyds reduce its branches.

Let us not eradicate cheques and cash, because, as has often been proved, digital services are prone to stop working. Roger Reed

sir – I am grateful to TSB for the letter I have just received explaining a free offer of a scheme to “check your business is digitally fit”.

This scheme, the bank says, looks at websites, mobile apps and cyber security, and “will show you what’s working and where your online presence could use some help”.

Should I take up their kind offer? David Proud
