Sheeplike cunning
sir – Llandudno’s invasion by goats (report, April 25) reminded me of trouble with sheep in Marsden, in the West Riding of Yorkshire. They came down from the moors and munched merrily through gardens. A bright spark from the council put cattle grids on the road into the village. Yorkshire sheep, though, are resourceful, and simply lay down and rolled over the grid to resume their fine dining.
