House prices get April lift, but growth to slow

House prices were up 2.6pc in the year to April, rising slightly quicker this month, though Nationwide warned growth was still expected to slow this year to 1pc. “Much will depend on how broader economic conditions evolve, especially in the labour market, but also with respect to interest rates,” Nationwide’s Robert Gardner said.
