Trump card House of Lords may defy Speaker’s ruling
Peers may defy John Bercow’s ban on allowing Donald Trump to speak in the House by inviting him to address them in the Royal Gallery instead. It is thought that the House of Lords would be sympathetic to a request to allow a speech during the president’s 24-hour visit to Britain on July 13 or on a future state visit. Some peers say Lord Fowler, the Lord Speaker, may be receptive after he had distanced himself from Mr Bercow’s ruling.
