Embassy worker ‘hit children with belt’
A foreign high commission staff member accused of hitting her children with a belt was unaware her parenting style was “inappropriate” in the UK, the Family Division of the High Court in London heard.
The secretary is embroiled in family court proceedings after her two sons and two daughters were placed with foster carers when one of them made complaints to a teacher.
A judge ruled that the children can return to her care after social services staff carry out “rehabilitative work”. The woman admitted smacking, but claimed the children had exaggerated.
