The Corbyn effect
SIR – I suspect that many Labour supporters will agree with Neil Coppendale (Letters, May 5) that the local election results have proved, if proof were needed, that Jeremy Corbyn is unelectable.
Here in Wandsworth, I know of a significant number of older Labour supporters – myself included – who held their noses and voted for the Conservative candidates in order to prevent our borough from becoming a People’s Republic.
I suspect that Mr Coppendale’s conclusion will be borne out if Mr Corbyn leads the Labour Party, or that part of the party from which he draws his support, into the next general election.
