No plastic, please

SIR – The fishing village of New Quay in West Wales was recently awarded plastic-free status.

I fear the locals are taking this too literally. In the window of a gift shop I saw a banner with the words: “Say no to plastic”. Above it was a handwritten note which read: “Sorry, we no longer accept credit/debit cards”. Roger Bryan
