Spotify bans R Kelly from its playlists
SPOTIFY has removed singer R Kelly’s music from all its playlists under a new “hateful conduct” policy.
The streaming service said it would not “actively promote” artists whose behaviour did not “reflect our values”. Kelly has been accused of sexual misconduct and assault by a string of women, but denies all wrongdoing.
Kelly’s music will still be available on Spotify but will no longer be promoted on playlists. He has described a high-profile “#Muterkelly” campaign targeting the music industry as “the attempted public lynching of a black man”.
