Mosque knife attack leaves one dead

One person died and two others were seriously injured after attackers armed with knives stormed a South African mosque, setting it on fire as they fled.

Police said the attack took place in the town of Verulam, 15 miles from the city of Durban, shortly after midday prayers yesterday. It comes in the run-up to the Muslim fast of Ramadan, which begins next week.
