No need for wet wipes
SIR – There is a simple alternative to plastic-based disposable wet wipes, due to be banned (report, May 9).
When the first of my three children was born, I bought 20 small flannels. Dampened with water, these provide a far superior wipe for sticky fingers, snotty noses or unmentionable baby bottoms. Carry them dry in your bag, or damp in a Ziploc bag. The cloths go in the wash with towels or bed linen, and have lasted for three children.
