Waitrose accused of copying chocolate bar
Waitrose has found itself embroiled in a plagiarism row with the boss of Hotel Chocolat who accused the chain of recreating popular bars at a fraction of the cost.
The supermarket giant has been told to withdraw its recently launched “Luxury Chocolate Bar”, priced at £2, immediately.
Upmarket Hotel Chocolat claims the supermarket’s product copies the curvy design of its chocolate bar, which retails at around £16 and is registered with the European Intellectual Property Office.
