Incentive backfires Commuters blamed

Free parking in Salisbury has been cut back after commuters targeted the spaces.

Wiltshire council introduced free parking to encourage shoppers to return to the town centre after a reported 15 per cent decrease in footfall since the nerve agent attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

Parking will now be free from midday on weekdays, and remain free at weekends.
