Number of ebay millionair­es in UK hits 1,000

THE number of self-made millionair­es selling goods on ebay has hit 1,000 for the first time in Britain.

So-called ebay millionair­e numbers have increased by 300 in the past year, a study shows, meaning there are now more than 1,000 in the UK.

The list of top businesses include sellers of home furniture and DIY, car parts, clothes and computers.

Rob Hattrell, of ebay, said: “Around 23 million Brits continue to visit us every week and it’s no surprise that the nimble small businesses … are flourishin­g.” An ebay millionair­e is defined as a British registered business on ebay. co.uk with an annual turnover of £1million or more. Mark Radcliffe, 38, became the UK’S first ebay millionair­e at 30 after he set up First2save, a mobile phone accessorie­s business.
