- Network Rail

A May 15 article stated that Network Rail had a five-year, £800million plan to cut down 13 million trees alongside railway tracks. No such plan exists. Network Rail’s estate has around six million trees and, for safety reasons, it removes on average two trees per mile of track per year, less than 1 per cent of its trees. We apologise for this error.
