Cold callers ‘often visited’ area where woman found dead
AN 85-YEAR-OLD pensioner found dead in her home could have been harassed by cold callers, friends have said.
Rosina Coleman was discovered in her bungalow in Romford on Tuesday.
Friends of the seamstress have spoken about the high incidence of unsolicited visits in the area.
Alan Wackett and his partner, Patricia Branch, said it was common for men to call at the pensioner’s home without credentials or equipment, asking to carry out housework.
Ms Branch said that, several years ago, men came to their house demanding money to fix the roof: “I thought if I didn’t [give them money] they would hurt me.” The couple described Ms Coleman as a “lovely” woman.
