Serial killer Nilsen died of stomach aneurysm

Dennis Nilsen, the serial killer, died after complicati­ons from a blood clot removal in his stomach, an inquest heard yesterday.

He died in hospital on May 12 after waking and complainin­g of stomach pains two days before.

After being taken to York District Hospital, Nilsen, 72, who admitted killing and dismemberi­ng 15 people, mostly homeless young gay men, in the Seventies and Eighties, was found to have an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
