Pc posed as woman for sexual reasons, says Met
A police officer posed as a woman online to “advance his sexual proclivities”, a Metropolitan Police investigation has found.
Pc Neil Smith, who was based at the Met’s operational command unit in Lewisham, south-east London, breached the police database to access crime reports, a disciplinary hearing was told.
He was also found to have removed a “substantial amount” of Metropolitan Police property, including case files, a crime scene log and a police baton.
A Met report revealed that Pc Smith, whose actions amounted to gross misconduct, resigned on May 2.
