College scraps marks to help student well-being
A royal drama college has scrapped its marks for first-year students in a bid to reduce stress.
The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama made the move in an attempt to improve the well-being of students on its acting and design for performance courses.
Brian Weir, student experience director at the college, whose alumni include Sir Anthony Hopkins and Rob Brydon, said: “The feedback has been very positive so far. We have already found that removing the grading makes the student much more receptive to concentrating on their personal progress.”
