Death by red tape
sir – The new General Data Protection Regulation is a very poorly thoughtthrough piece of legislation.
This impression was confirmed by hearing that thousands of additional lawyers are being trained and recruited to assist firms struggling to interpret the new rules. The older generation, who support so many small charities, will not be willing to grapple with the new requirements, and their Gift Aid donations and legacies will be lost forever.
I feel certain this is going to be the death of many small charities and the subject of huge numbers of unnecessary legal actions for redress. Jayne Tracey
