Why should shoppers shell out more for eggs?

sir – It seems that New Look has increased some prices for clothes in its Curves (plus-size) range (report, May 15).

On a related note, I have always wondered why large eggs cost more than medium eggs. Are hens that lay the larger variety really that much more expensive to keep than those producing smaller ones?
