Police investigate new knife murder in London
A man has been stabbed to death on a busy street in north London.
The victim, who has not yet been named, died in Upper Street, Islington, at around 6.30pm yesterday.
A cordon was put in place along the road, which is lined with high-end shops and restaurants.
Paul Convery, an Islington councillor, described the attack – the latest in surge of knife killings in the capital this year – as “horrifying”.
Police have launched an investigation but no arrests have yet been made. Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, wrote on Twitter: “This is being investigated by officers and my thoughts are with the victim’s family.”
