Customers of Amazon are sent packing

- By Daily Telegraph Reporter

AMAZON is banning shoppers who return too many items, former employees have claimed, while dozens of customers have also complained online that Amazon closed their accounts without warning or explanation.

According to former Amazon managers, the company deletes people’s accounts for requesting too many refunds, sending back the wrong items or violating other rules.

Nir Nissim was told in March that he had violated the company’s conditions of use agreement. A customer service agent later told him that his account had been closed due to his return activity, but Mr Nissim said he returned four items last year and just one this year.

Chris Mccabe, a former policy enforcement investigator at Amazon, said customers’ accounts are deleted when they are “creating a lot of headaches”.

Amazon said: “We take action, when appropriate, to protect the experience for all our customers. If a customer believes we’ve made an error, contact us directly so we can review the account.”
