Where did we park? Couple offer reward for finding car

AN ELDERLY couple who forgot where they parked their car are offering a reward for anyone who can find it.

Emmanuel Elliott, 81, and partner Hilda Farmer, 79, parked “within a mile and a half ” of Cheltenham General Hospital on Friday while attending an appointment, only to later discover they could not remember where they had parked it.

Since the confusion the couple from Gloucester are now offering £100 to anyone who can find the car after family and friends were unable to trace the Ford Fiesta during a four-day hunt.

Ms Farmer had dropped her partner off for an appointment at the hospital before going to find somewhere to park. It then took her about 30 minutes

to walk from the car, so it is estimated to be “within a mile and half ” of the hospital, according to Mr Elliott.

He said his partner parked the silver Ford Fiesta – registration EJ12 VSP – in “a really nice, quiet street” at about 2.30pm on Friday.

“There were houses just on one side, and all the cars were parked in their driveways. On the other side there was greenery – maybe a park or a field,” he told the BBC.

“Ours was the only car parked on that side of the road, alongside the greenery.”

Police had told him they were “fairly confident” the vehicle will still be where it was left, he added.

Ms Farmer said she didn’t know the area or Cheltenham very well as she was born in Gloucester, adding: “I’m frightened of Cheltenham. I [normally] always go on the bus.”

Gloucestershire Constabulary were not available for comment.
