Survivor of Cuban air crash dies in hospital

The death toll in one of Cuba’s worst air disasters has risen to 111 after a woman who was pulled from the wreckage died later in hospital.

Grettel Landrove, a 23-year-old student and flamenco dancer, died in a Havana hospital on Monday from “severe traumatic lesions”.

Two other Cuban women remain in critical conditions due to burns and other trauma from last Friday’s crash.

Mexico has suspended the operations of the Mexican company that leased the 39-year-old Boeing 737 to Cubana, Cuba’s flagship airline.
