Labour aide apologises for May ‘noose’ remark
A Labour parliamentary aide who said Theresa May would “look better with a noose around her neck” must be expelled, Jeremy Corbyn has been told.
Brandon Lewis, the Conservative Party chairman, urged the Labour leader to remove Paul Robertson, an assistant to Ian Lavery, the party chairman, over “violent, misogynistic comments”. He said that Mr Corbyn needed to act to live up to his promise of a “kinder politics”. Mr Corbyn’s spokesman called the comments “unacceptable”. Mr Robertson said: “I apologise unreservedly for making this highly inappropriate and offensive comment over the weekend, which I have now deleted.”
