sir – Jeremy Corbyn urges a united Ireland (report, May 24). I wonder on what basis. Does he similarly suggest that parts of Italy should reunite with Austria, or Corsica go its own way?

Is geography his guide? Or has he fallen for the distorted pack of lies that passes for nationalist Irish history? Frank Rooney
