Trigger How it happened

Amazon says that the device “woke up” because a noise sounded like its trigger word, “Alexa”.

The device then misheard a conversation as a message sending request. It asked: “To whom?” and thought it heard a name of a contact. It responded: “[Contact name] right?” – then mistook yet another background noise for confirmation. It then sent its recording to the contact.
