Land row sees couple’s front door blocked by fence

- By Daily Telegraph Reporter

A COUPLE returned home from their honeymoon to find a fence erected 2ft from their front door, apparently erected by a disgruntled farmer.

Thomas Entwistle, 27, and his wife Rebekah, 24, were dumbfounded to find the 6ft wooden barrier in front of their home in Blackburn.

Having spent 11 days in the Dominican Republic earlier this month, they were looking forward to returning and starting married life in their new £220,000 four-bedroomed property on Persimmon Homes’ Brook View estate.

However, it appears they have unwittingly found themselves in the middle of a land dispute between a local farmer and the developer.

Persimmon insists that none of its development encroaches on land it does not already own, but the farmer is understood to have a difference of opinion and has reportedly put up the fence.

The owner of Upper Mickle Hay Farm was not available for comment.
