Shelf life
SIR – I have often been impressed at how some people’s bookcases are tidily coordinated by size. However, the photograph of Ben Fogle’s bookcase (Features, May 26) shows that he goes one step further. Each shelf is colour coordinated.
Is he therefore so fastidious that he only buys gardening books with green covers, cookery books with red covers, travel books with yellow covers, and so on? Does he have a filing system that informs him which colour shelf he needs in order to find a certain book?
The other possibility is that he never reads any of them and it’s just for show. Impressive, but baffling.
