Smart homes to nudge people into healthy habits

Housing developers are being asked by health officials to embed smart technology into homes to improve health. Trackers could enable remote monitoring of vulnerable patients, such as those with dementia, while movement sensors could track fitness activity levels and screens could flash up reminders to be active, get health checks, flu jabs or stop smoking. The “healthy homes” are part of a national scheme to embed healthy lifestyles through changes to our living environmen­ts.
