-

Officials began vaccinating health workers and locals yesterday in Bikoro, where the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo was declared at the start of the month.

Oly Ilunga Kalenga, the health minister, oversaw the vaccinations of at least 10 people in the town, where at least five of 12 Ebola deaths have occurred. The campaign, which began last week, is targeting more than 1,000 health workers and contacts of those who have fallen sick in three areas.
